Brand New Fishing Hall at the Fred Hall Central Valley Sports Show

fred-hall-showsThe Fred Hall Central Valley Sports Show, formerly the Sportsman’s Boat, RV and Outdoor Show, will have a very different look this year. Since the addition of the Fred Hall Show name early last year the fishing tackle and boat portion of the show have grown dramatically. Building #3 at the Kern County Fairgrounds is completely full of fishing displays. It will also have it’s own separate entrance from the street. Also, inside the building is the Costa Sporting Chef Café, which is the “show home” of TV chef Scott Leysath. Scott, along with his sidekick, singer songwriter Gary Shiebler, will teach you how to cook fish and game and will whet your taste buds with samples of his amazing cooking. In between Scott’s shows there will seminars about fishing in the Eastern Sierra given by authors Jared Smith and Seth Blakcamore, Mono County expert Jeff Simpson and Lower Owens Fly Fishing guru Gary Gunsolley. Also, another new addition to the Fishing Hall is “The Galley”. The Galley is a new concession stand that will be replicating food that would be found on some of the famous San Diego fleet “party” boats.

Boats, boats and more boats will be scattered throughout the fairgrounds. Just outside the fishing hall will be the Daiwa Bass tank where hourly bass fishing seminars will take place. 50 feet away is a new building filled with boats. Connecting building 3 and building 2 will be a giant tent filled with boats. Building 2 will be half boats and half booths and then in the Bolthouse, outside of building 1 will be more boats. Acres of boats, dozens of manufacturers all hoping to sell you the boat of your dreams.

Of course this show has been famous for RVs for years. It has been one of the most successful RV shows in the Western United States. 2017 will be no different, hundreds of RV’s will be scattered throughout the fairgrounds. All major manufacturers will be represented.

Woven inside the hundreds of RVs will be the Super Cruise Car Show. For the first time it has expanded to two days and they expect over 1500 cars to be displayed over Saturday and Sunday. Of course there is the Bill Wright Toyota So-Cal National Tractor and Truck pulls on Saturday night and the North Bakersfield Toyota Bako Sand Drags every day. Every Fred Hall Show has a Mammoth Lakes Kids Fish Free Trout Pond and kids 15 and under get in free. Don’t miss the Les Schwab Tires Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show, the Coors Light Dock Dogs Regional Challenge, the Great American Duck Races, the new Kids Korner, archery, air gun ranges and much, much more. Come to the New Fred Hall Central Valley Sports Show for a full day of family fun, March 10-12 at the Kern County Fairgrounds.
